 Sequence: Peptide with sequence C-KNVAEPGRGQQKHFQ, from the C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_067020.2.
Notes: Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 75kDa band in Human Liver, Placenta and Prostate lysates after 0.03ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 23.9kDa according to NP_067020.2. The 75kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Summary: This protein is a member of the WAP-type four disulfide core domain family. The WAP-type four-disulfide core domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor in many family members. The encoded protein shares 81% amino acid identity with the rat ps20 protein, which was originally identified as a secreted growth inhibitor. This protein is mapped to chromosome 16q24, an area of frequent loss of heterozygosity in cancers, including prostate, breast and hepatocellular cancers and Wilms' tumor. Owing to its location and a possible growth inhibitory property of its gene product, this gene is suggested to be a tumor suppressor gene. [provided by RefSeq].
