 E2F7 ANTIBODY TARGET DESCRIPTION:
Synonym Names for E2F7 antibody: E2F7; A630014C11Rik, D10Ertd739e; E2F-7; E2F transcription factor 7 [Mus musculus]; Transcription factor E2F7

E2F7 is a E2F family member. It can block the E2F-dependent activation of a subset of E2F target genes as well as mitigate cellular proliferation of mouse embryo fibroblasts.

Function: Inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription. Binds DNA independently of DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3'. Appears to regulate a subset of E2F-dependent genes whose products are required for normal cell cycle progession. Modulates the activity of other E2F proteins, such as E2F1, probably by competing or displacing activating E2Fs from promoter binding.

Subunit: Self-associates. Probably binds DNA as a homodimer (By similarity).

Subcellular Location: Nucleus.

Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed with highest levels in skin and thymus and very low levels in brain, muscle and stomach.

Domain: Both DNA-binding domains are required for DNA-binding and are proposed to form an intramolecular structure that is similar to the winged helix structure of the E2F-DP heterodimer (By similarity).

Similarity: Belongs to the E2F/DP family.

E2F7 reacts with mouse.
