NCBI Gene ID: 977
Isotype: Specificity: CD151
Clone: 11G5a
Fusion Partner: Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the X63.Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cell line.
Specificity Note: This product recognises the human CD151 cell surface antigen, also known as PETA-3. CD151 is expressed by epithelial cells, endothelial cells, platelets, megakaryocytes, monocytes and in the renal glomeruli and proximal and distal tubules. CD151 is not expressed by lymphocytes or granulocytes. More recently CD151 has also been shown to be expressed by erythrocytes, and to carry the MER2 blood group antigen (2).
It should be noted that CD151 is very closely associated with the alpha3 beta1 integrin in cells and co-immunoprecipitation may occur even in quite stringent conditions. (1).
Immunohistology: This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment but results are enhanced with heat mediated antigen retrieval in 0.01M citrate buffer.
Histology: Tonsil/spleen
Preparation: Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant
Preservative Stabilisers:
Suggested Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells or 100ul whole blood
Suggested Dilution: Flow Cytometry - 1/50 - 1/100 Immunohistology - Paraffin - 1/100
Source/Host: Mouse
Clonality: Monoclonal
Crossreactivity: Human
Format: Purified
Storage: Store at +4Cor at -20Cif preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Stability: 18 months from date of despatch.
Shipping: Products may be shipped on ice pack or dry ice. |

| CD151 ANTIBODY TARGET DESCRIPTION: |
Synonym Names for CD151 antibody: CD151; TSPAN24; MOUSE ANTI HUMAN CD151; CD151; CD151 antigen
Function: Essential for the proper assembly of the glomerular and tubular basement membranes in kidney.
Subunit: Interacts with integrins alpha3beta1, alpha5beta1, alpha3beta1 and alpha6beta4, with CD9 and CD181.
Subcellular Location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed in a variety of tissues including vascular endothelium and epidermis. Expressed on erythroid cells, with a higher level of expression in erythroid precursors than on mature erythrocytes.
Induction: By HTLV-1.
Polymorphism: CD151 defines the MER2=RAPH1 antigen of the RAPH blood group system. 92% of Caucasians are MER2-positive and 8% are apparently MER2-negative.
Disease: Defects in CD151 are the cause of nephropathy with pretibial epidermolysis bullosa and deafness [MIM:609057].
Similarity: Belongs to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family.
CD151 reacts with human.
OMIM: 179620; phenotype. [NCBI / EBI] 602243; gene. [NCBI / EBI] 609057; phenotype. [NCBI / EBI]
