Specificity: AIF
NCBI Gene ID: 9131
Isotype: Specificity: AIF
Immunogen: Peptide corresponding to amino acids 593 - 606 of human AIF (CT).
Specificity Note: This product recognises apoptosis inducing factor (AIF). The antibody reacts with the C-terminal region of the AIF. AIF is widely expressed in human tissues and localises in the mitochondria. AIF translocates to the nucleus upon induction of apoptosis.
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to AIF (CT) were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbit with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
Source/Host: Rabbit
Clonality: Polyclonal
Crossreactivity: Target Species: Human Reacts with: Rat. Mouse N.B.
Format: Purified
Storage: Store at +4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Stability: 18 months from date of despatch.
Shipping: Products may be shipped on ice pack or dry ice. |

| AIFM1 ANTIBODY TARGET DESCRIPTION: |
Synonym Names for Aifm1 antibody: Aifm1; Aif; Pdcd8; RABBIT ANTI AIF (aa593-606); Apoptosis-inducing factor AIF [Mus musculus]; Apoptosis-inducing factor 1, mitochondrial
Function: Probable oxidoreductase that acts as a caspase-independent mitochondrial effector of apoptotic cell death. Extramitochondrial AIF induces nuclear chromatin condensation and large scale DNA fragmentation (in vitro).
Cofactor: FAD (By similarity).
Subunit: Binds to DNA in a sequence-independent manner (By similarity).
Subcellular Location: Mitochondrion intermembrane space. Nucleus. Note=Translocated to the nucleus upon induction of apoptosis.
Similarity: Belongs to the FAD-dependent oxidoreductase family.
AIF reacts with target species: human reacts with: rat. mouse n.b..
