CRH PEPTIDE TARGET DESCRIPTION:
Synonym Names for CRH peptide:
CRH; Corticotropin-releasing factor; CRF; Corticotropin-releasing hormone; Corticotropin releasing factor; Corticoliberin
Corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) has been widely implicated as playing a major role in modulating the endocrine. autonomic. behavioral and immune responses to stress. Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF) is a hypothalamic peptide that releases adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and endorphin from the anterior pituitary. Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF) is also a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. and is involved in autonomic and endocrine responses to stress.
Function:
This hormone from hypothalamus regulates the release of corticotropin from pituitary gland.
Subcellular Location:
Secreted protein.
Similarity:
Belongs to the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family.
Corticotropin Releasing Factor Human Rat reacts with human rat.
OMIM:
122560; gene+phenotype. [
