Any material which is of human origin has been tested at donor level and found negative for hepatitis B surface antigen (HbsAG), antibodies to HIV1 and 2 and HCV. However, these tests cannot guarantee the absence of infective agents and full safety precautions should be taken as in the handling of any potentially infective body fluid. Only personnel adequately trained in such methods should be permitted to perform the procedures.
