Specificity |
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a 6.0 kDa globular protein with a primary role in the stimulation of epidermal and epithelial cell proliferation. It also inhibits gastric secretion, is involved in wound healing and intestinal development. It activates the MAPK pathway and inhibits c-Myc-mediated apoptosis.
