Description

Sequence (One Letter Code): GLSRSCFGVKLDRIGSMSGLGC

Sequence: {GLY} {LEU} {SER} {ARG} {SER} {CYS} {PHE} {GLY} {VAL} {LYS} {LEU} {ASP} {ARG} {ILE} {GLY} {SER} {MET} {SER} {GLY} {LEU} {GLY} {CYS} Formula: C93H157N29O29S3 Chemical Bridge: Disulfide bridge: Cys6-Cys22

Solubility: Soluble in water. The contents of this vial have been accurately determined. Both the stopper and the vial have been siliconized. Do not attempt to weight out a smaller portion of the contents. C-Type Natriuretic Peptide(CNP) was originally isolated as a 22-amino-acid peptide from the brain. CNP is synthesized and released from cultured endothelial cells. CNP has been found to act as a coronary vasodilator through activation of cGMP by activating a particulate gyanylate cyclase.

Function: Vasorelaxant activity. Has a cGMP-stimulating activity.

Subcellular Location: Secreted protein.

Similarity: Belongs to the natriuretic peptide family. [1] Arimura,J.J., Minamino,N., Kangawa,K. and Matsuo,H., et al.
