Cyclin-dependent protein kinase 2 (Cdk2), also known as cell division protein kinase 2, is a 34-kDa nuclear protein that regulates events within G1 and S phase in the human cell cycle (1-4). Cdk2 is inactive until a complex is formed with cyclin A, D, or E (2). Inhibitory phosphorylation occurs on Thr14 and Tyr15.
