Secondary Antibodies

Secondary antibodies are essential reagents for detecting or analyzing target proteins bound by primary antibodies. In conjunction with primary antibody production, GenWay can produce and purify secondary antibodies to be used in various applications. We have experience with conjugating IgY and IgG antibodies to a diverse range of conjugates including HRP, Alkaline Phosphatase, Biotin, FITC, or microbeads.

Lack of secondary antibodies against IgY previously limited their popular use, since anti-IgG secondary antibodies were ineffective. GenWay has developed six types of anti-IgY antibodies, that not only address the needs of IgY applications, but also make them directly compatible with the reagents and immunoassay methods commonly used with IgGs, such as Western blotting, ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunoprecipitation assays. Secondary antibodies are usually used for providing signals of detection or bridge to solid phase. Therefore, many types of secondary antibodies are labeled or conjugated with different enzymes or signal-generating materials or microbeads (e.g. nano-particles or nano-bars).
